At Toyota Research Institute (TRI), we’re on a mission to improve the quality of human life. We’re developing new tools and capabilities to amplify the human experience. To lead this transformative shift in mobility, we’ve built a world-class team in Energy & Materials, Human-Centered AI, Human Interactive Driving, Large Behavioral Models, and Robotics.
This opportunity falls within the Human-Center AI (HCAI) department. We are an integrated team of behavioral scientists, ML researchers, and human-computer interaction experts. At the core of our work, we aim to support people to make better decisions by leveraging the best of big data, technology, and insights about why we do what we do.
We are seeking a highly motivated Behavioral Scientist to join the Future Product Innovation department in addressing challenges at the frontier of human psychology and AI. We are looking for a candidate to support multiple projects investigating approaches for economic prediction and forecasting at multiple levels of the automotive industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in decision science and/or economic modeling with an interest in industrial research.
TRI’s AI Residency Program is a year-long research training program inviting those skilled in various fields to receive hands-on training with research while applying their own domain expertise. Residents will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our team at TRI on high-risk, high-reward projects and support new methods that will impact future TRI’s research.
Experience can come from both inside and outside traditional education and work settings. This program is inclusive of diverse skill sets and backgrounds; we encourage you to apply!
