Software Engineer

Summary

Data engineering team is responsible for building backend solutions for feeding data to machine learning models used by TeleSign fraud prevention products as well as building support tools and frameworks for Data Science teams. Team is being expanded because it is taking ownership of building new real-time, cloud-based ML platform.

We need someone eager to work and learn within AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment creating processing and application logic on top of framework which transforms and enriches large amounts of incoming data. This position is strongly backend development oriented microservices, data manipulation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development process: design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Implement highly available and scalable services.
•  Participate in design and code reviews to help increase the quality of our products.
• Support existing systems while making enhancements towards future architecture.
• Follow the software lifecycle process when developing software.
• Stay up to date with coding standards and relevant technology development.
• Work within a scrum team.

Essential Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience with OO languages (Python, C#, Scala, Java...)
• Experience with object-oriented programming, design patterns and common algorithm.
• Hands-on experience with databases – querying (analysis), designing, optimizing (relation and/or no-sql).
• Interest in innovative technology or software industry.
• Fluent in English, verbal and written.

Nice to have

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience with AWS (or any other cloud) development with emphasis on using serverless services.
• Experience with Spark/Spark Streaming or Flink.
• Experience with various ETL techniques and frameworks.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
