Job Summary:

The Financial Risk Analyst Intern will support the Risk Management team in evaluating and improving financial risk models and strategies. This internship provides hands-on experience in credit risk assessment, data analysis, and financial modeling within the auto finance industry.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and/or Python is a plus.
• Ability to interpret financial data and generate insights.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Internship Learning Project: Capture Rate Performance Model

Project Overview:

The intern will help develop a model to measure which segments are maximizing their capture rate opportunity.

Project Scope:

1. Understand Existing Capture Rate Model:
• Review the current model that predicts capture likelihood based on application demographics.
• Learn how the model functions and its key drivers.
2. Compare Predicted vs. Actual Capture Rates:
• Analyze actual capture rates across different regions, dealers, and sales reps.
• Identify who is outperforming and underperforming the benchmark.
3. Develop Capture Rate Grading System:
• Create a framework to grade reps, regionals, divisionals, and dealers based on their performance.
• Design a scoring mechanism to categorize performance levels.
4. Present Findings and Recommendations:
• Compile results into a report.
• Deliver a final presentation to the Risk team, explaining insights and recommendations for action.

Expected Outcomes:

• A structured grading system for evaluating capture rate performance.
• A data-driven approach to identifying key performers and areas of improvement.
• Actionable insights for refining strategies to enhance overall capture rates.

Mentorship Structure:

Primary Mentor and Backup Mentor

The mentors will provide guidance, facilitate learning, and ensure the intern gains valuable hands-on experience. They will hold regular check-ins to review progress, answer questions, and provide feedback.

This structured internship will offer a meaningful learning experience while contributing to critical business initiatives within the Risk department.

This role is entry level.

What’s our Pay rate?

• $17.28  per hour
• The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
