About the role
We are looking for a passionate Product Data Analyst to drive innovation in the Product Data team and work with stakeholders cross-functionally to drive adoption of a single source of truth for product master data in our Product Information Management (PIM) system. A successful candidate will need to understand or develop an understanding of product data architecture within Officeworks including but not limited to PIM, SAP, Relex, WMS, and BY.
Your primary responsibility will be to explore any and all means to reduce touch points and improve data accuracy – including engaging other retailers to identify best practice for product data management, identifying and implementing automation and integration opportunities to reduce manual touch points and errors, developing strategies and training to drive data quality improvements and building KPI reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving business operations and increasing enterprise value through accurate and reliable data. This role will operate in a hybrid manner, 2-3 days a week from our Support Office in Chadstone, Victoria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Capture & Efficiency: Improve the speed and accuracy of data entry in PIM and other systems. Simplify processes to reduce manual errors and address any capture issues.
- Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy of product master data. Work with IT and suppliers to automate data collection and enforce validation rules. Conduct audits and resolve issues quickly.
- Usability Enhancement: Collaborate with business units to enhance data usability. Develop solutions that improve how PIM data is used and advocate for its strategic use.
- Data Input Controls: Manage data input controls and user permissions to ensure only authorized changes. Address unauthorized access promptly.
- Process Improvement: Find ways to improve data management processes. Promote new technologies and stay updated on industry trends.
- Collaboration & Support: Work with cross-functional teams to maintain data management practices. Guide data cleansing efforts and share best practices.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure data management complies with governance policies and regulatory requirements. Develop and enforce data standards.
About you
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications in data management or related disciplines are a plus.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in product data management, ideally within a retail environment.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Experience in identifying and driving system and process enhancements.
Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and process improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with data integration, automation technologies, and regulatory requirements.
