Steampunk is seeking a forward-thinking, well-rounded Data Science Analyst intern who will assist with special projects supporting a cross functional team across the business. We are looking for individuals who have a record of outstanding academic performance, high learning agility, and who can work in an open and entrepreneurial way.
Contributions
As a Steampunk Summer Intern with our Data Exploitation practice, your daily responsibilities will vary by project, but you can expect to:
- Collaborate and innovate to connect our people with the technology they need to build market relevant skills and be impactful to the business.
- Assist in development and testing of new business processes, capabilities, and, as appropriate, their supporting technologies
- Continually experience new and engaging opportunities, challenging work, flexibility, career sponsorship and mentoring, and recognition for your contributions.
Qualifications
Pursuing a degree in one of the following subject areas:
- Computer Science / Computer Engineering or similar Engineering degree
- Information Assurance / Information Security / Cyber Security degree
- Management Information Systems / Information Technology
- Business Administration
Basic Qualifications:
- Rising college juniors and seniors
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
- Experience modeling on structured and unstructured data sets
- Experience with exploratory data analysis
- Experience in feature engineering
- Experience in data visualization
- Must be passionate about new data exploration techniques such as generative AI
- Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, R, or Java
- Experience in big data systems including Hadoop, Spark, Scala
- Data visualization skills in Tableau, Power BI, D3, ArcGIS
- Experience using Python to manipulate large data sets
- Experience with Deep Learning approaches
- Experience with TensorFlow, Keras, or other Deep Learning tools
- Experience with Git, Bash, Unix commands
- Experience in Cloud analytics (AWS or Azure) with tools such as AWS SageMaker, Azure HDInsight, etc.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps as it applies to data science
- Must have been a previous 2024 Steampunk intern

- Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
- Strong winning mindset, resourceful in overcoming obstacles and driven individual
- Excellent teambuilding and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
