With Securities-Based Lending, our private banking clients take out a loan with their securities portfolio as collateral. For our clients, these are the cheapest and most flexible loans, although they can be tricky as they leverage the portfolio which means that any up- or down turn is amplified. While ING has a high commercial ambition for Securities-Based Lending, in the Dutch market they face strong competition and show rapid technological developments.

Roles and responsibilities 
As a Data Analyst in the PBWM Securities-Based Lending product team, you will play an important role in the data-driven culture supporting the digitalization of the loan origination, in life management and the risk monitoring of our customer journeys.

You design and track customer journeys and create and deliver relevant products and pricing, marketing and/or channel strategies, taking decisions based on customer data, being responsible for business outcomes, and coordinates with relevant internal and/or external stakeholders, in order to design new and continuously improve existing customer experiences

You will be responsible for creating and delivering valuable insights to support the Private Banking journeys and to improve the quality of our customer experience. Your day-to-day job will consist of delivering analysis and insights to make a difference in the operational, sales and risk performance of the Securities-Based Lending team. Next to that you work on finding solutions to make our lending journeys more data-driven. You organize the capturing of data into the data lake, act as a data steward, analyze and improve the data quality. You will be involved in data delivery for operational steering, product performance and regulatory reporting. You will cooperate closely with the PBWM Securities-Based Lending product team, which is headed up by the PBWM Securities-Based Lending Product Lead. You report hierarchically to the PBWM Lead Data Analytics, who reports hierarchically to the PBWM Head Business Development & Customer Experience.

Your work environment

As a Data Analyst, you will be part of the PBWM Securities-Based Lending product team. You will be working in an Agile environment by being a member of a multidisciplinary team of 4 - 5 specialists. Your colleagues will have a background in Process management, IT, Data Analytics/Management in the business and risk domain. You work closely with the colleagues from Sales, Pricing, Operations, Credit Risk and Finance.

As a Data Analyst, you will also need:

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or alike, and/ or equivalent experience of 1-3 years within data reporting & statistics.
  • You are analytically strong and are a star in assessing and solving problems, making analyses, and sharing results with impact
  • You have experience with querying languages (e.g., SQL, SAS) and BI tooling (e.g., Cognos and PowerBI)
  • Affinity or experience with Private Banking
  • To be able to influence and convince not only peers but also the stakeholders based on analytical results.
  • Communicatively strong, team player and taking initiative and ownership
  • English (verbal and written) and hold current residency in the Netherlands. Dutch is a pre
