Summary:
Analytics Engineers will be responsible for building, maintaining and optimizing the data pipelines and infrastructure that power our Analytical capabilities. They will collaborate closely with data scientists, data analysts, and data engineers to ensure the reliable delivery of high-quality data to enable data driven business decisions for our company. They will be a key player in transforming raw data into actionable insights, contributing to the development of data-driven products and services.
Essential Functions:
Data Pipeline Development and Maintenance
Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing data from various sources (e.g., policy administration systems, claims systems, third-party data providers)
Implement and optimize ETL/ELT processes using modern data engineering tools and technologies (e.g., Azure ADF, cloud-based data warehouses like Azure Fabric).
Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability through data validation and monitoring.
Design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure that power business intelligence tools and enable data-driven decision making
Test data to ensure it is of high quality, in all stages of the analytics pipeline, from data ingestion to delivery
Ensure data models are running reliably in a production environment
Provide relevant documentation on modeled data and metrics including data definitions, data lineage, business logic, sample queries to enable self-serve, analytics
Data Reporting and Visualization
Create clear, concise and visually appealing dashboards and reports using Power BI
Translate data insights into clear and compelling visualizations for stakeholders
Maintain and Optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and other data presentation products that align to the enterprise architecture
Data Analysis
Perform exploratory analysis, identify trends and patterns and draw conclusions from data sets
Extract complex data from multiple sources into usable and meaningful reports and analyses

Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases and data warehousing concepts
Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Azure ADF) and other Azure Cloud technologies (Data Fabric)
Strong experience with BI tools like Power BI for data visualization and dashboard creation
Familiar with software engineering practices such as version control with Git, Testing, and CI/CD
Familiarity with Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance data model is a major plus
Experience with data governance and security best practices is a plus
Data Analysis Skills: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify trends and patterns in data
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communications skills to translate complex data insights into clear, concise, and actionable information for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Business Acumen: Understanding of core business concepts and the ability to connect data analysis to real-works business problems and opportunities
Team Skills:
Strong team collaboration skills
Curious, empathetic, attention to detail, and relentless follow through
Education Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field preferred
8+ years of experience as a Analytics or BI Engineer, Data Analyst, BI Analyst or equivalent work experience
