Your Opportunity
As the Senior Manager, Client & Market Intelligence, you will lead and manage a high-performing team of research analysts and data scientists. Your mandate is to elevate the firm's market and client insight capabilities to drive business outcomes by integrating various research methodologies with advanced analytics and AI-driven technologies. You will oversee the design, development, and execution of strategic initiatives that support BDO’s strategic direction, business development, market positioning, and innovation programs.
This role is ideal for a strategic leader who thrives at the intersection of research, technology, and storytelling — someone who can lead cross-functional teams and translate complex data into actionable insights that drive measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Oversight
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of researchers and data scientists focused on delivering insights into industry trends, client behavior, and economic shifts.
- Provide strategic direction and quality oversight for all client and market intelligence deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Insight & Innovation
- Oversee the integration of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI applications into market intelligence initiatives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, industry teams, marketing, and service lines to identify knowledge gaps and insight needs, and deliver tailored solutions.
- Drive the adoption of tools and platforms that modernize how insights are packaged, visualized, and communicated (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
Program Development & Delivery
- Lead the design and implementation of strategic research programs and analytics initiatives that support growth, client acquisition, and competitive positioning.
- Support innovation programs by identifying opportunities for automation, predictive insights, and AI-enabled decision support tools.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a senior liaison between the Client & Market Intelligence team and internal business units, ensuring relevance and impact of insights delivered.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear, compelling, and actionable manner.
- Manage expectations, timelines, and deliverables across multiple projects and stakeholders.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, Marketing, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in research, analytics, strategy, or market intelligence roles — with at least 2+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of both traditional research methods and modern data science techniques (e.g., statistical modeling, machine learning).
- Proficiency in data visualization platforms (PowerBI, Tableau) and analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, Excel).
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver complex projects on time.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for simplifying complex data into compelling narratives.
- Deep understanding of the Canadian market and macroeconomic trends; professional services experience is an asset.
- Bilingual (French/English) is considered a strong asset.
