Your role
As Editorial Adviser, Artificial Intelligence, you will explore and implement artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives that will transform how content is created and delivered at Radio-Canada. You will build a collaborative work environment and have the opportunity to work with teams across the organization. To succeed in this role, you must have journalism experience and strong knowledge of generative AI tools.
With the support of the digital teams, you will explore, evaluate and test AI tools to ensure that Radio-Canada remains a trusted and reliable source of news and information for Canadians. You will stay current on industry trends and serve as the go-to AI expert internally by providing thought leadership to teams.
You will support change management initiatives by facilitating communication between Digital Media’s AI teams and editorial teams, ensuring a clear understanding of the proposed changes as well as buy-in for new tools. You will play a crucial role in identifying potential challenges, developing AI strategies and supporting editorial teams. You will be responsible for providing journalists with training and guidance on the use of the tools developed.
You will also help establish standards and guidelines for the responsible use of AI, based on industry best practices, while being sensitive to the impact on editorial teams.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field, or equivalent experience and training.
- Minimum five years’ recent experience in a digital news environment.
- Strong journalistic skills and substantial experience writing, researching, fact-checking and packaging digital news content.
- Understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.
- Very good knowledge of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini.
- Innovative mind and good change management skills.
- Ability to understand stakeholder needs and manage expectations.
- Empathetic, collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- Excellent command of written French; English an asset.
- Understanding of the Google Workspace suite of tools.
