Position Summary:

The Vice President of Scientific Data Managment will oversee the creation and implementation of the Flagship Data Exchange, a transformative platform designed to unlock the full potential of data across the organization’s portfolio. This strategic leadership role requires deep expertise in data architecture, life sciences, cutting-edge technology, and operational excellence to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and enhance data utilization.  This is a hybrid position based at of our Cambridge headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic design and technical execution of the Flagship Data Exchange, ensuring it aligns with the organization’s vision for collective data innovation and AI/ML enablement.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, data teams, and technology experts to define priorities, governance, and operational frameworks.
• Oversee platform development, focusing on scalability, interoperability, and AI/ML readiness, to maximize value for participating entities.
• Champion a cultural shift toward transparent and equitable data sharing while addressing stakeholder concerns around value and competition.
• Ensure the platform meets stringent data security and compliance standards while fostering innovation.
• Represent the platform to key stakeholders, partners, and board members, ensuring alignment and continuous support. 

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to build and lead scientific data management, warehousing, and sharing platforms at the enterprise-level. 
• Track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects at the intersection of data architecture, life sciences, and AI/ML.
• Deep working understanding of genomic, multi-omics, imaging, and clinical data.
• Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing interdisciplinary teams, including technical experts and researchers.
• Strong strategic vision combined with operational excellence, capable of driving innovation while navigating ambiguity and complexity.
• Expertise in fostering collaboration and creating systems that balance individual and organizational benefits.
