Position Title: Strategy - Associate (NY) 

Entity: KBRA Holdings LLC

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: New York

Summary/Overview:

KBRA Analytics is looking for a full-time Associate to work closely with the Head of KBRA Analytics and KBRA’s Chief Strategist on macroeconomic and markets research. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and analytical skills. This position will be based out of our New York City office, with the flexibility to work remotely two days per week.

About the Team:

KBRA Analytics is our premier product platform for high quality data and advanced analytics. Our seasoned teams of industry specialists across each product provide unparalleled insight creating a foundation for users of deeper analysis and rapid discovery.

KBRA Strategy is responsible for informing and coordinating KBRA’s views on macro credit trends, with a particular focus on economic and market developments.  Core constituents of the macro credit trends focuses on both internal and external, which are communicated through regular publications and a weekly podcast. 

About the Job:

  • An interest in and familiarity with financial markets and economic data analysis
  • Strong programming skills in R and/or Python
  • Experience with object-oriented programming
  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Strong knowledge in statistics and/or econometrics
  • An undergraduate degree with relevant work exp or a graduate degree in quantitative fields such as: computer science, data science or analytics, statistics, finance, or economics
  • Familiarity with LaTeX is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Develop analytics for and analysis of the KBRA Altman corporate defaults data
  • Provide analytical work and credit market research in support of Chief Strategist
  • Gather data in macroeconomics and credit markets
  • Assist in writing news and weekly forecasts/reports
  • Support products across KBRA Analytics

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or similar degree
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong presentation, communication, and written skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time and resources meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills, the ability to take initiative and follow-up where needed

Salary Range:

The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 to $120,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
