Position Summary:

The Analytics Engineering Manager at Actabl will lead the Data Engineering team to design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure and analytics solutions. The Manager will mentor data engineers to become proficient in analytics engineering, particularly in the transformation layer, and will manage the team to achieve business objectives. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and efficient data products that support both external and internal customers, including Actabl's suite of Products as well as finance, revenue, and sales teams.

Essential Duties:

Analytics Engineering Leadership:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive analytics engineering strategy and framework
• Evaluate the organization's analytics needs and propose suitable solutions
• Establish best practices for Data Engineering and analytics
• Lead the data engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive analytics initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives
• Monitor compliance with Data Engineering standards and address any issues or gaps

Data Infrastructure and Solutions:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and pipelines using Fivetran for Extract & Load, dbt for transformation, and Snowflake for data warehousing
• Implement Data Vault 2.0 modeling to ensure accurate and reliable data flow
• Develop and maintain data models to support business analytics
• Conduct regular assessments and audits of data infrastructure to ensure optimal performance
• Work with data stewards to resolve data issues and improve data accuracy

Mentorship and Development:

• Mentor data engineers to enhance their skills in analytics engineering, particularly in the transformation layer (GOLD layer) using Kimball methodology
• Provide training and support to employees on analytics tools and best practices
• Foster a data-driven culture by promoting the importance of analytics across the organization

Collaboration and Communication:

• Communicate analytics goals, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership and stakeholders
• Collaborate with IT, business units, and other departments to align analytics efforts with business objectives
• Ensure that analytics solutions meet the needs of both external customers and internal teams (finance, revenue, sales, etc.)

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience in analytics engineering, data management, or a related field (5+ years)
• Experience managing people (3+ years)
• Strong understanding of Data Engineering frameworks, tools, and best practices
• Experience with data integration, data modeling, and data visualization
• Knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Data Vault 2.0)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders
