Software Engineer, Machine Learning

Meta is seeking a Machine Learning (ML) Engineer to join the Video Infrastructure (VI) Creator Tools team. Video infrastructure (VI) builds client and server multimedia SDKs for short-form video, Video On Demand (VOD) and Live across all surfaces (web and mobile). The Creator Tools team focuses on developing core technology that fuels next generation video and audio creation experiences in FaceBook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Edits, Reality Labs, and more. The team’s mission is to democratize content creation and give audio and video production superpowers to the everyday user. We are looking for candidates who share a passion for driving new Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Computer Vision (CV) and ML-assisted creation features to production, develop and optimize innovative audio and video creation technologies and tackle efficiency and reliability challenges in order to make our creation features available to billions of users.Software Engineer, Machine Learning Responsibilities

• Build and optimize ML models and technologies for audio and video creation
• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, speed and stability of audio/video ML models
• Collaborate with other audio, video and ML experts to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of audio and video creation ML infrastructure
• Conduct design and code reviews
• Iterate and optimize ML models to make them run efficiently on mobile clients
• Interface with software infrastructure teams in order to ship innovative features fast into production
• Work with the team to help design, setup, and run practical experiments and analyses related to large-scale video/audio ML model deployment
• Partner with product teams in order to integrate the media and creation technology into the product stack

Minimum Qualifications

• Programming experience in a relevant programming language (e.g. C, C++,)
• Relevant experience using scripting languages and frameworks such as Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow or equivalent
• Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, pattern recognition or artificial intelligence
• Experience in identifying ML model bottlenecks and driving foundational and implementation changes to make them faster and smarter
• Experience in developing and optimizing audio/video creation technologies and ML models
• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent industry experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry experience in developing, optimizing and maintaining audio/video software
• Experience in audio and video editing and in operating at least one audio or video software editing platform
• Experience in identifying computational, memory and other bottlenecks in multimedia algorithms and ML models, driving integration changes to make them faster and more efficient
