Job Description:

We’re one of the world’s largest providers of transportation and logistics services. Our customers range from small and mid-sized companies up to global enterprises.  Our Global Logistics and Distribution business unit provides comprehensive logistics services and warehousing solutions utilizing a global network of distribution centers, innovative technology and supply chain expertise to manage the flow of goods from receiving to storage and order processing to shipment. 


This position collaborates with key Service Parts Logistics (SPL) stakeholders to design tools that benefit SPL and its customers. He/She uses discipline specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist with various projects, presentations, and business improvement opportunities. This position performs other career related responsibilities as assigned.


Responsibilities:

Develop a semi-automated model that determines the optimal location of warehouses for service parts logistics (SPL) customers. The model inputs are order history and install locations and the output is an optimized list of warehouses that accounts for cost, efficiency and service goals.

Qualifications:

  • Rising college junior or senior, graduate student or recent graduate within the last 24 months pursuing a degree in Engineering, Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills.  
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.  
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively across business units and to different levels of management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
  • Use Structured Query Language (SQL) to extract and transform data.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Sufficient and effective knowledge and experience in programming and algorithms.
  • Experience working with Microsoft’s Power Platform (Power Automate & Power BI) will be an asset.
  • Experience applying machine learning will be an asset.
  • Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself –Required.
