Rye Country Day School is seeking a full-time Director of Institutional Research & Data Analytics (DIR) position to begin on July 1, 2025.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to assess and improve institutional effectiveness in alignment with the school’s mission and strategic goals. Reporting to the Assistant Head of School, the DIR plays a key role in data-informed decision-making through analysis, visualization, and strategic insights. The role also supports program evaluation, survey administration, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Specific responsibilities of the position include:
Institutional Research & Strategic Planning
● Lead institutional research to assess school programs, systems, and mission alignment.
● Collaborate with administrators to define metrics and design tools to measure progress toward strategic goals.
● Provide research support and insights to the Learning and Innovation Committee.
● Present findings and data trends to stakeholders to support institutional improvement.
● Teach one/two section(s) (course and/or topic negotiable and as needed)
Data Collection, Analysis & Visualization
● Design, collect, analyze, and report on data across academic programs, DEIB, student services, arts, athletics, faculty development, and more.
● Maintain dashboards and data visualization tools to support strategic decision-making
● Clean and analyze data for dashboards, reports, and internal evaluations.
● Conduct longitudinal and comparative data analysis using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
Survey Management & Reporting
● Design, distribute, and analyze surveys for students, faculty, parents, and alumni.
● Maintain the institutional survey calendar to coordinate timing and avoid survey fatigue
● Create custom surveys and reports to meet specific departmental needs.
Support for Teaching, Learning, & Faculty Development
● Manage the Faculty Growth & Evaluation Dashboard and related datasets.
● Administer and analyze course evaluation surveys.
● Provide targeted data support for faculty, departments, and learning services.
External Reporting & Accreditation
● Coordinate and submit data to NAIS, DASL, INDEX, and the Department of Education.
● Serve as liaison to accrediting bodies and external organizations.
● Support compliance with data reporting standards and requests.
Community Engagement & Capacity Building
● Lead the Institutional Research Committee and cultivate a culture of data-informed practice.
● Build employee data literacy through professional development.
● Maintain networks with organizations like NAIS, AIMS, CIRIS, NYSAIS, INDEX and others to stay current on best practices.
Desired qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
● Demonstrated expertise in data analysis (quantitative & qualitative), visualization, and survey methodology.
● Proficiency with tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, R, SPSS, STATA, SAS, SQL, Qualtrics,Tableau, or similar platforms.
● Experience in research design, data integration, and dashboard development.
● Strong communication and storytelling skills to present data to diverse audiences
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Salary range $90,000 - $110,000 based on experience
