We are looking for a skilled Analytics Engineer / Data Analyst to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for writing efficient SQL queries, gathering and analyzing data requirements, detecting anomalies and trends, and working closely with stakeholders to ensure their analytical needs are met. You will also collaborate with data owners to define data quality standards and expectations to maintain the integrity and reliability of our datasets.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving business problems through data, translating stakeholder needs into actionable insights, and ensuring high data quality standards while working with modern data tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Write efficient, scalable SQL queries to support analytics and reporting use cases. 

  • Work with stakeholders to gather and define requirements for analytical use cases and reporting needs. 

  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing insights to support business decisions. 

  • Develop data validation processes and anomaly detection frameworks to improve data integrity. 

  • Collaborate with data engineers and business teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and completeness. 

  • Create clear and actionable documentation related to data definitions, business logic, and analytical models. 

  • Work closely with data owners to establish data governance, standardization, and best practices for data quality. 

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and drive data-driven decision-making. 

  • Stay up to date with best practices in data analysis, SQL optimization, and analytics engineering. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. 

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analysis, or a related role. 

  • Strong SQL skills, with experience in writing complex queries, performance optimization, and debugging issues. 

  • Experience in data analysis, anomaly detection, and trend identification using SQL or other analytical tools. 

  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and deliver meaningful insights. 

  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) for data visualization and reporting. 

  • Strong understanding of data quality principles and ability to work with data owners to establish data governance processes. 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with dbt (data build tool) for transforming and modeling data. 

  • Experience with Databricks. 

  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)  

  • Knowledge of Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis and automation. 

  • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and working with structured and semi-structured data sources.
