TEAMThe Logistics Robotics is responsible for developing navigation capabilities such as localization, mapping, planning, control and tele-op, and integrating them into our delivery robot system which will be deployed in the Toyota Woven City in 2025 and more. Our approach is a mixture of data driven and analytical methods, in other words, ML and classical approach which can solve real problems in the city. Also, we heavily leverage digital twin tools to accelerate our software development, prototyping hardware design and quality assurance, then iterate PoC as quickly as possible by working closely with Hardware, Cloud, Biz and UX team as one team.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FORYou will be responsible for designing and implementing the simulator and its related systems for logistics robots in this position. You are expected to develop not only the simulation capabilities but also the test and cloud framework using the simulator. You will also lead the integration with all the software stacks to ensure the entire system quality. You will report to the function manager, and this is a hybrid work style role.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FORYou will be responsible for designing and implementing the simulator and its related systems for logistics robots in this position. You are expected to develop not only the simulation capabilities but also the test and cloud framework using the simulator. You will also lead the integration with all the software stacks to ensure the entire system quality. You will report to the function manager, and this is a hybrid work style role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the simulator integration with all the software stacks (robot, facility, backend, and frontend) with stakeholders across teams
- Build CI/CD pipeline on the cloud platform to validate the software stacks in various scenes and scenarios
- Design and implement the test framework (scenario description, randomization, parameter sweeping, etc.) for QA (Quality Assurance) and RA (Risk Assessment) with test case management
- Develop the simulator's core components (physics and sensor simulation, sync and async communication, robot and scene model, dynamic obstacles, etc.)
- Develop and support the generalized robotics simulator platform for external inventors
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education Background - MS or higher in Robotics or related fields
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Experiences in robot system development using ROS2 (C++/Python) on Linux
- Experiences in developing simulation test frameworks on cloud platforms (AWS/Docker/GitHub Actions)
- Experiences in robot simulation development using Unity (C#) with physics and sensor simulation
- Business-level English
NICE TO HAVES:
- Development of a generalized robotics simulator platform
- Navigation scenario validation with dynamic obstacles
- Overall understanding of robot algorithm
- Overall system understanding including backend and frontend
- Sync and async communication
- 3D computer graphics for sensor simulation and UI
- CAD and BIM conversion for robot and scene models
- Synthetic data generation with PBR
- Experiences in QA and RA using simulation
