Job Title: Data Governance & Architecture Intern

Location: Dallas, TX

Your role:
The Data Governance & Architecture Intern will support the Corporate Data Office by assisting with foundational tasks across Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Management, and Data Cataloging. This internship provides hands-on experience in enterprise data operations, including data documentation, cataloging support, quality tracking, and architecture visualization, offering a strong foundation in data and information management at scale.

What you’ll do:

  • Data Catalog Support: Assist with metadata entry, validation, and updates in the enterprise Data Catalog; support catalog users with onboarding and access inquiries​.
  • Documentation: Help document data architecture, including data domains, master systems, and lineage; support updates to data models and architecture diagrams​.
  • Governance Artifacts: Support creation and maintenance of data governance documentation, such as data domain definitions, policies, quality rules, and stewardship rosters​.
  • Data Quality Monitoring: Assist in collecting, organizing, and reporting on data quality metrics and stewardship activities in collaboration with the governance team​​.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Attend stakeholder meetings and take notes; help synthesize follow-up actions for use by architects and engineers.
  • Platform Tools: Support administrative tasks in tools like the enterprise Data Catalog, MDM platform, and quality management systems.

What you’ll need:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Interest in learning data architecture, governance frameworks, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for enterprise data management and governance.
  • Ability to follow processes and maintain accuracy with complex documentation.
  • Analytical thinking and willingness to explore technical systems.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic, evolving data environment.
