AI Engineering Intern

Position title: AI Engineering Intern

Location: Dallas, TX

Your role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative AI Engineer Intern to join our Corporate Data Office team. In this role, you will support the design, development, and implementation of AI and Machine Learning solutions using Python and Azure technologies. You will gain hands-on experience building impactful AI solutions, participating in data preparation, AI model development, and integrating AI tools within enterprise systems.

What you’ll do: 

• Support the design, testing, and implementation of AI/ML solutions to solve real-world business problems.
• Develop AI agents and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using Azure AI Search, Copilot Studio, Semantic Kernel, and LangChain.
• Assist in building data pipelines, including ingestion, preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training.
• Prepare and manage structured and unstructured data sets for training and evaluation of AI models.
• Integrate AI systems with existing applications to ensure seamless functionality and reliability.
• Learn and apply efficient storage and retrieval techniques using vector and RDF graph databases.
• Participate in Agile development cycles by managing tasks, timelines, and documenting success metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to research on emerging AI technologies and methodologies.

What you’ll need: 

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
• Strong Python skills with exposure to frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Foundational knowledge or coursework in Azure AI services (e.g., Azure AI Search, Copilot Studio).
• Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as Semantic Kernel or LangChain is a plus.
• Understanding of core ML algorithms, NLP concepts, and AI system design principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively in collaborative, team-based environments.
• Exposure to version control (Git), DevOps basics, and Agile development methodologies.
