About Team

Walmart’s Global Sourcing Technology team is responsible for building and maintaining software that enables Walmart to Source the best quality products at the lowest possible price and pass that savings to our customers so they can Save Money and Live Better. Walmart is investing in transforming the Global Sourcing business by enhancing the user experience with the latest technology and we are looking for talented individuals who can use their engineering and leadership skills to help our teams solve complex problems. You will be part of the application development team leading software design and implementation, problem solving, as our customers evolve and adapt, we are taking it a few notches further here. We are looking for a motivated ML Engineer III with strong skills in machine learning development, NLP, and software engineering. This role involves building and deploying ML solutions, contributing to architectural designs, and collaborating across teams to deliver impactful AI-powered features.

What You Will Do:

Model Development & Implementation:

• Implement and fine-tune Generative AI and LLM-based solutions for real-world applications like personalization, search, and conversational AI.
• Develop and maintain pipelines for training, testing, and deploying models at scale.

Software Development & Design:

• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code to integrate ML models into production systems.
• Collaborate on modular and extensible designs that align with business requirements.
• Participate in translating high-level designs into detailed solutions, including pseudo-codes and functional logic.

Collaboration & Delivery:

• Partner with product managers and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI integration.
• Support the creation of MVPs to test hypotheses and refine solutions based on feedback.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.

What You Will Bring

• 3–4+ years of experience in machine learning engineering or related roles.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Hands-on experience with NLP techniques and tools, including Hugging Face Transformers or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with RAG frameworks, vector search tools
• Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud platforms (GCP, Azure), and scalable architectures.
• Ability to understand and implement non-functional requirements like fault tolerance and scalability.

Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
