As an Energy Analyst- Natural Gas at FactSet, your role involves more than simply locating, gathering, and analyzing energy data. You will gain and apply a comprehensive understanding of the natural gas market, recognizing key industry trends and effectively communicating insights to support and guide clients' commercial decisions.
In this role, you will focus on natural gas supply, demand, pricing dynamics, infrastructure developments, and regulatory impacts while managing or supporting FactSet’s natural gas-focused products and participating in consulting projects. You will analyze large datasets related to production, pipeline flows, storage levels, LNG exports, and market pricing, conduct industry research, and address both client and internal inquiries.

Responsibilities:
- Manage or support natural gas-focused products and participate in consulting projects
- Analyze large datasets related to production, pipeline flows, storage levels, LNG exports, and market pricing
- Conduct industry research and address client and internal inquiries
- Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and insights
- Engage with clients and provide timely market analysis
- Contribute to the development of data-driven insights that support clients in the natural gas industry
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1-4 years of experience in an energy-related field or demonstrated competency in areas related to natural gas
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in mathematical and statistical analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, working independently and as part of a team
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future
Competencies Desired:
- Understanding or experience with Natural Gas industry practices
- Experience in a client facing position
- Strong writing skills for producing high-quality research and reports
- Ability to think critically and maintain composure under pressure
- Attention to detail and a proactive, inquisitive approach to tasks
- Experience in SQL and/or Python for data extraction and analysis
- Experience working with large datasets related to the natural gas industry, including supply, demand, and pricing
- Ability to filter market noise and identify key trends impacting the natural gas market
- Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize data into actionable insights
- Intellectual curiosity and ownership of tasks with a client-first mentality
- Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders
- Comfortable sharing findings and insights in various formats, tailored to the audience’s needs
- Financial or economic knowledge/experience a plus
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Petroleum Engineering, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or a related field of study.

The budgeted amount range for this position in the State of Colorado is $65,000-$85,000.
