Centrica Energy is a leading power and gas trading company with a strong presence in Europe, with further plans to expand globally into the American and Asian markets. Currently, our European Intraday Proprietary Power trading desk is looking to hire a trading analyst for the Copenhagen office.

About the role

The position offers a wide range of tasks, from model development to data analysis and collaboration with the trading team. There is room to explore new ideas and projects. You will play a key role in the Intraday Proprietary Power Trading team ensuring everything is running smoothly, while also having the freedom to come up with new ideas and working closely with the traders on a day-to-day basis. Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Advise the trading team based on statistical analysis and probability.

• Investigate causal relationships and seek new trading opportunities.

• Develop tools to monitor findings and communicate with developers and algorithm designers.

• Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and trends.

• Collaborate with the trading team to optimize portfolio performance.

• Prepare reports and presentations for management based on analytical findings.

• Monitor and evaluate model performance and make necessary adjustments.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

• A Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with developers and algorithm designers.

It would be an advantage if to have experience with financial markets and trading.
