YouGov is offering an exciting 12-month Graduate Programme in our Commercial function designed to give you invaluable hands-on experience in both SRG Academic & Political and YouGov Blue roles, providing a solid foundation for your career in-house. This unique rotational programme offers you the opportunity to experience two six-month placements across these two teams.
SRG Academic & Political team:
SRG is seeking a Graduate Program Associate with training in survey methodology and project management. The Graduate Program Associate will assist Project Managers with setting up and managing survey research projects to ensure their successful completion. Integral to this role is coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of the survey project spec. The Graduate Program Associate will need to ensure all project steps are completed, checked, and verified prior to client delivery.
This role includes the following responsibilities:
- Reviewing client surveys for programming setup, survey links, and open-ended data
- Assisting the Project Managers in the documentation of projects
- Communicating with programmers required survey edits
- Reviewing scripted surveys for accuracy
- Basic data cleaning
- Reviewing data deliverables for accuracy and contract fulfillment
- Quality control review and monitoring
YouGov Blue team:
YouGov Blue is a custom research unit of YouGov serving Democratic and progressive clients. We leverage the panels, methodology, and technology infrastructure of YouGov to develop novel capabilities to help progressives succeed at the ballot and in the legislative arena. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about progressive candidates and causes as well as about statistics and survey methodology to come join us.
You will work with our clients to design survey programs, set research goals, manage the logistics of projects, and report results.
You should have some familiarity with survey research and data analysis and be eager to learn more. You should be comfortable learning in a fast-paced environment and asking questions when you have them. Your teammates will be excited to provide mentorship and training in this fast-changing field.
We care more about your experience and skills than your schooling, but the relevant educational background is a Bachelors in the quantitative social sciences, statistics, or other relevant scientific areas.
These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:
- The successful candidate will have training in survey research and strong communication skills. This role works with multiple stakeholders to accomplish daily tasks. Strong writing skills are a must. We are looking for job candidates with the following qualifications:
- Training in survey research
- Good grasp of survey research and research vocabulary
- Ability to multi-task with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
- Experience using R or SPSS
- Introductory knowledge of survey research design and analysis
Qualifications:
- Experience performing data analyses in a coding language, such as R, Python, STATA, or SPSS (R is strongly preferred)
- Strong project management, attention to detail, and written and oral communication skills
- Prior demonstrated commitment (whether through work or volunteer experience) for Democratic campaigns or progressive organizations
Nice to have:
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Prior work or volunteer experience for Democratic campaigns, polling or analytics firms, or other progressive organizations
