The Data Engineer Consultant team member will play a pivotal role in supporting complex cross-functional programs and solving key problems facing product managers. This position requires expertise in data science, data engineering, telecom infrastructure, and home networking. The role involves coordinating between stakeholders and technical teams to ensure successful project execution and delivering tangible value to the organization. The individual will leverage data insights to increase operational efficiency, drive continuous improvement, and realize value for TELUS initiatives.


What you’ll do

 

  • Lead the development and maintenance of data analytics dashboards for the Products and Services team.
  • Engineer data pipelines to clean data and prepare for visualization.
  • Access and analyze telemetry data from network elements to assess customer impact.
  • Support the development, validation, and deployment of AI/ML models for proactive support of customers experiencing network issues.
  • Use spatial reporting techniques to provide geographic insights and utilize advanced SQL skills to integrate data across multiple systems.
  • Create actionable insights and reports to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications


What you bring

 

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or another cloud provider.
  • Practical experience in Python development, especially in data-driven environments and for building scalable applications.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD best practices, using tools such as GitHub Actions and Cloud Build.
  • Confidence in communicating complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced expertise in data analytics and visualization tools (Looker/Tableau), strong SQL skills, and experience with Vertex AI and Python.
  • Experience building data procedures and scheduling and orchestrating data pipelines.
  • Experience in Data Architecture and Data Warehousing.
  • Expertise in programming languages (Python).
  • Solid background in project management and the ability to communicate and influence stakeholders.

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Experience with the data offerings in Google Cloud Platform
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) and source control (GitHub).
  • Exposure to AI/ML model development and deployment.
