Sightline is seeking a Data Governance Program Lead for a critical leadership position responsible for the establishment, implementation, and ongoing management of a comprehensive Data Governance & Intelligence Solution (DGIS) designed to support the upcoming ERP transformation initiatives under Project Sightline. This role is integral to ensuring that the organization’s data assets are governed effectively, promoting data integrity, quality, and compliance while driving strategic value from data across the enterprise.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities


Program Development and Execution

  • Lead the design and deployment of a robust data governance framework that aligns with the strategic goals of Project Sightline and the broader organizational objectives.
  • Develop a detailed implementation plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, to ensure successful execution of the data governance program.


Vision and Strategy Formulation

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to articulate a clear vision for data governance that supports business needs and drives data-centric decision-making.
  • Create and refine a strategic roadmap for the data governance program, outlining key initiatives, priorities, and performance metrics to measure success.


Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams—including IT, data management, compliance, operations, and business units—to foster a culture of data stewardship and shared accountability for data governance.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input, communicate progress, and promote awareness of data governance principles and practices throughout the organization.


Policy and Standards Development

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data governance policies, procedures, and standards that define data ownership, data quality expectations, and compliance requirements.
  • Regularly review and update governance documentation to ensure it remains relevant and responsive to the evolving regulatory landscape and organizational needs.


Data Quality Assurance

  • Establish and monitor data quality metrics and KPIs to assess the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across various systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with data stewards and business units to identify data quality issues and implement corrective actions, ensuring continuous improvement in data management practices.


Training and Awareness Programs

  • Design and deliver training programs and resources to enhance data governance knowledge and skills across the organization, ensuring all employees understand their roles in data stewardship.
  • Promote data literacy initiatives that empower employees to leverage data effectively in their decision-making processes.


Monitoring, Reporting, and Compliance

  • Implement mechanisms for ongoing monitoring and reporting of data governance activities, including audits, compliance checks, and program performance evaluations.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to executive leadership and stakeholders, detailing the status of data governance initiatives, challenges faced, and achieved outcomes.


Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in data governance to continuously enhance the program and adapt to changing business environments.
  • Solicit feedback from stakeholders and leverage lessons learned to refine governance processes and frameworks, ensuring the program remains effective and relevant.

Additional Information

  • The work hours will primarily be regular day shift office hours. However, there may be times when employees are required to work off hours to respond to project inquiries, adhere to project deadlines and meet the overall needs of a 24/7 health system/university.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven years of progressively responsible IT management experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field 
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related fields, with a proven track record in leading data governance initiatives and ERP implementations.
  • Master's Degree is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices, as well as familiarity with data quality tools and data management technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data issues into actionable strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Starting Salary Range: $98,200 - $171,900 Annually (Commensurate w/exp.)

This salary range does not include all components of the Sightline compensation program.  This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.  Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary slightly from the salary range stated herein.  For more information, please contact the hiring department.
