Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding scientists in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

Playing a critical role as the leader in Computational Chemistry responsible for:

  • Leading and building the strategy to utilize AI/ML techniques, including diffusion models, deep learning, and generative models to accelerate drug discovery.

  • Build and apply machine learning techniques to our rich internal datasets to aid in new hypothesis generation with experimental collaborators.

  • Implement machine learning and computational chemistry-based methods to model protein-ligand and protein-protein interactions.

  • Being a partner in the scientific activities of other outstanding scientists across Revolution Medicines and helping create an environment where we channel scientific curiosity to build and deliver a sustainable portfolio.

  • Advancing the RevMed Research Portfolio and helping build our scientific reputation through presentation/publication of project results in scientific meetings and peer-reviewed literature, as guided by RevMed publication policies, to build our scientific reputation.

  • Identifying, establishing and leading partnerships with selected strategic technology partners focused on supporting RevMed projects.

  • Drive integration of state-of-the-art generative AI methodologies within computational drug design.

  • Optimize generative AI methodologies with one or more design criteria for novel compound generation.

  • Participate and lead the evaluation of external and internal capabilities and facilitate collaborations with external partners.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Ph.D. degree in a relevant scientific discipline with over 8+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry alongside a strong track record of positive impact in programs.

  • Expertise in a wide variety of AI/ML-based computational techniques and developing adaptable ML workflows in the space of protein-protein interactions and molecular AI design.

  • Expertise in frameworks such as PyTorch/TensorFlow, training, and fine-tuning models on GPUs.

  • Previous experience leading large AI/ML projects that require engaging with collaborators across the board and with varying degrees of expertise.

  • Recognized as an intellectual leader in the early phases of drug discovery with a track record of patents, publications and project achievements.

  • Demonstrates ability to recognize anomalous and inconsistent results and interpret experimental outcomes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with interdepartmental teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and achieve research goals as part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Knowledge of oncology therapeutic area and drug discovery.

  • Evidence of successful coaching, mentorship and development of both individuals and teams in order to build long-term organizational capability.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $204,000 to $255,000 for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the salary for an individual working onsite in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based in. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
