We’re coming off a strong year and are setting even higher ambitions for the future. To help us reach the next level, we’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our team.


As a Data Engineer at Ambyint, you will report to the Data Science and Data Engineering Lead. In this position, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable streaming and batch data pipelines. Your work will empower our teams to leverage data effectively, creating new data-driven processes that add significant value to our artificial lift optimization platform.


You’ll be instrumental in driving our data architecture forward, ensuring data quality, optimizing performance, and enhancing security and cost-efficiency across the platform. Working closely with data scientists, software engineers, and other cross-functional teams, you'll play a critical role in unlocking the full potential of our data.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Architect, design, and implement scalable data infrastructure to move, process, and serve data efficiently
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using best practices in DataOps, including CI/CD, unit testing, and documentation
  • Improve and optimize existing data pipeline architectures for better performance and cost efficiency
  • Design and manage cloud-based data warehouses or data lakes to support data storage and retrieval
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software teams to develop and deliver data products for analytics and reporting
  • Implement data quality monitoring, validation processes, and governance policies to ensure data consistency and accuracy
  • Secure and maintain data infrastructure with a focus on SOC2 compliance and best practices for data security
  • Design, monitor, and optimize performance metrics and warehouse consumption KPIs
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve our data practices

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles, with a focus on scalable data pipelines
  • Expertise in database development and SQL (including views, procedures, DML, and DDL)
  • Experience with Snowflake is required
  • Strong knowledge of ELT/ETL tools like dbt, Matillion, Fivetran, Kafka Connect, or Stitch
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices and tools such as CircleCI, Terraform, and GitHub
  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, Java, C#)
  • Experience with data pipeline concepts (ETL/ELT) and familiarity with data warehouse design principles
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on high-quality deliverables
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
