Senior / Principal AI Systems Scientist - Oracle Labs

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic systems researcher / engineer to join our efforts at the intersections of cutting-edge Scalable Database Technologies and Artificial Intelligence (leveraging LLMs & AI Agents). 

This role demands both technical depth and and strong communication skills to guide and mentor teams, while engaging effectively with key stakeholders.

Required Skills: 

• MSc degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of hands-on software development in large scale data management systems with proven expertise in coding (C / C++) and system design. 
• Demonstrated work or understanding of generative AI and system architecture of LLMs internals. Experience with Machine Learning is a plus.
• Experience in formulating analytical problems into actionable research and applying advanced techniques for problem solving
• Ability to articulate complex technical topics clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences 
• A drive to solve hard problems at scale
• Thorough understanding of CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms and complexity analysis 
• Working proficiency in verbal and written English

Preferred Skills:

• PhD degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Distinguished problem-solving skills.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder management capabilities to align technical objectives with business goals.
• Deep comprehension of the importance of teamwork and demonstrated ability to work with and guide collaborative, high-performing teams.
• Commitment to fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Career Level - IC4

As a member of the Oracle Labs division, you will take an active role in identifying key novel techniques and technologies that have potential to impact existing Oracle products such as Oracle Database.
 

You will be responsible for developing, designing and debugging of software implementations of these techniques and work with product teams to successfully transfer them into Oracle products.
