The starting base pay for this role is between $140,000 and $200,000 with a total earnings potential of up to $220,000 at target.

In this leadership (team management) role, Associate Director, Commercial Data, Reporting and Sales Analytics, you will be responsible for building, maintaining and improving the sales reporting and analytics capabilities for specific CooperSurgical businesses. You will be responsible for leveraging commercial data, developing insightful reports, and providing actionable sales analytics to drive strategic decision-making and improve overall sales performance. You will work closely with sales, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. 

In addition, you will execute high-impact projects that leverage data to drive business decisions and growth. You will design and implement complex analytical models, develop descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions, and provide strategic insights that influence key business strategies. 

As a senior team member, you will mentor junior colleagues, collaborate cross-functionally, and lead initiatives to advance the organization's analytical capabilities.  This role will be based on-site at either our Trumbull, CT or Livingston, NJ locations.

Data Management & Preparation:

  • Build streamlined data tables and data models which can be used for dataflows to develop self-serving PowerBI dashboards for the sales and marketing teams
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and databases to facilitate efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Handle large datasets using tools like SQL, and Python, etc. 
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to optimize data infrastructure. Business Insights & Reporting
  • Collect, clean, and validate commercial data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

Reporting and Dashboard Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain regular and ad-hoc sales reports and dashboards using PowerBI.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) at a territory, customer, and product level to include sales revenue, growth rate, performance against plan, churn rate, cross-selling, etc.
  • Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and effectively communicate key insights to relevant stakeholders.

Sales Analytics and Insights:

  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that can inform sales strategies and tactics.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of sales performance by region, product, channel, and customer segment.
  • Develop predictive models and sales forecasts to support business planning and resource allocation.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of sales initiatives and campaigns, providing recommendations for optimization.
  • Conduct advanced statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in complex datasets.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the sales leadership and teams to improve sales effectiveness and achieve targets.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Partner with sales teams to understand their data needs and provide relevant analytical support.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to analyze campaign performance and its impact on sales.
  • Work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and product teams to align data and insights.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings to provide data-driven perspectives.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and improve data quality.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sales analytics tools and technologies.
  • Document reporting methodologies and analytical procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven track record of delivering impactful data-driven solutions.
  • Programming Skills – Python and R.
  • Advanced SQL skills including experience working with complex data.
  • Strong expertise in with ETL processes for data integration. Handling missing data and data inconsistencies.
  • Very strong experience in building Reports, Dashboards, and scorecards using PowerBI. 
  • Proven track-record in leading analytical and cross-functional teams and influencing the larger organization.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires a high degree of multitasking with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to think broadly for organizational implications of analytic insights.
  • Results-driven, detail-oriented, organized self-starter
  • Creative and critical thinker with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a sense of urgency and a proven ability to work on multiple projects at any given time.
  • Previous people management experience in with a proven ability to motivate and inspire a team to consistently perform at a high level.

Experience:

  • 8-12 years, ideally in a similar role in a data-heavy environment.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field is required for consideration.
