Network Automation Engineer

Responsible for Designing, Coding, Testing, Implementing, Maintaining and Supporting Vantage-One based application that is delivered within scope, with high quality, on time and within budget.

Work closely with Business partners, & Technology team members to understand business requirements, perform analysis and design of quality technical solutions that comply with the organization's architectural standards. Provide technical guidance to the development team through the full software life cycle.

Responsibilities:

Support complex network technologies through defined day-to-day BAU activities. Work to completion incidents, problems, and requests as required. Seek out and actively review network configurations to ensure they remain optimized and functional, providing near real-time corrections to the enterprise environment. Perform troubleshooting and diagnoses of system problems and failures. Use available tools to quickly resolve issues and limit impact to active incidents in a sometimes-high-energy environment. Ability to communicate effectively to large groups, regarding actions taken and identified root cause(s) of event(s).

· Recommend and implement preventative maintenance, technical changes and/or upgrades of the network environment, in accordance with corporate network standards and best practices for continuous improvement.

· Under direct supervision, write new code using prescribed specifications and design documentation in accordance with programming standards. Modify, test and troubleshoot existing programs/software utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and development/programming technology. Contribute to feature and functionality planning. Execute coding/modification of new and existing programs/software with focus on user experience and optimal program/system performance.

· Maintain and modify programs/software. Make recommendations for improvements and/or remedies to issues encountered. Implement approved changes by amending flow charts, developing detailed programming logic, and making changes to code. Write and maintain development/programming/systems documentation, as well as operations and user guides (as required). Document development/programming problems and resolutions for future reference.

· Effectively unit test all code and programs prior to releasing them to the quality assurance team. Resolve unit test issues in a timely manner. Assist the quality assurance team in identifying test cases and aid in creating/mining test data to enable a thorough test of development deliverables. Respond to inquiries and issues in a timely manner as the developed code/program moves through the testing process and ultimately into production.

· Provide production support to the end-user and technical operations staff as required. Research system/application issues/problems within area/program(s) of responsibility and recommend innovative solutions to prevent recurrence.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or related equivalent experience considered

· Proven understanding, with practical support experience of fundamental networking technologies3-5 years of proven development/programming/coding experience

o Technology Stack: .Net Framework, C#, Web Services, SQL, Shell Scripting, Python,

o Service Now – (Equivalent of our Citizen Developer)

o Automation Flows and Development experience a must

o Experience working in DevOps environment

· Proven problem/incident management and troubleshooting experience within a technology operations environment.

· Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with ability to collect and present meaningful system statistics and other metrics.

· Understanding of Infrastructure cabling, firewalls, load balancer’s, switches, routers, and SDWAN technologies

· Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously with great attention to detail, urgency, focus and discipline.

· Confident and comfortable taking the lead during troubleshooting or recovery scenarios.Experience provisioning and maintaining network technology hardware and software.Knowledge in Cloud-based Network Security technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Network Security technologies experience in several of the following areas:

o F5 Experience in the following: LTM; GTM; APM; and ASM

o Palo Alto Firewall experience.

o DNS/DHCP/IP Management – troubleshooting experience.

· Network Connectivity technologies experience in several of the following areas:

o WAN/LAN Routing and Switching IOS XE (non-SD WAN), SD WAN, LAN/Campus Switching, Data Center Switching

o Cisco Wireless - Prime - Catalyst Center (DNA Center)

o Route/Switching Protocols BGP – OSPF - EIGRP - Tunneling DMVPN - GRE – IPSEC

o Cloud Compute AWS – Azure

· Experience with Automation (Ex.: Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins,XSOAR)

· Experience using Service Now for Incident/Change/Problem Management.

· Familiarity with automation and scripting tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

· Broad knowledge in some of these additional networking areas: SASE, Proxy, AWS, Azure, ACI, Meraki, SDWAN, ISE and Cisco wireless technologies

· Conceptual knowledge in some of the following IT areas: servers, database, web hosting, capacity planning, and performance analysis, Virtualized systems, Containers, etc.

· Strong communication and organizational skills.

· Ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously with great attention to detail, urgency, focus and discipline.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Experience with other networking technologies ie: Tufin, Viavi, Gigastor, Network Capture Analysis, ISE, Forescout, Cisco Firewall, Threat Defense, Cisco VPN, DDoS, Linux, SecureCRT, WireShark
