Sanofi’s Neuroimmunometabolic Research Cluster in Cambridge, MA is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to help understand how the immune system and aging intersect to modulate the onset and progression of diseases that affect the nervous system.

 

The successful candidate will be proficient in techniques such as multi-color flow cytometry, cell isolation, MSD or NULISA assays, ELISA, scRNA-Seq, and preferably have experience in establishing cell cultures comprised of multiple cell types derived from iPSCs and PBMCs.

 

A passion for drug discovery, along with expertise in cell and molecular biology, live cell imaging, omics analysis, bioinformatics, data mining, programing, and other approaches to identify and validate targets is highly desired.

 

Additionally, applicants should have authored at least one or two immune-related articles, with a preference for those focused-on immunology and inflammation in the nervous system.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Generate in vitro neuroimmune cell models comprised of neurons, glia, and immune cells.    

  • Implementation of multiple state-of-the-art techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, live cell imaging, and microscopy

  • Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting (FACS)

  • MSD or NULISA assay implementation

  • Use programming skills (Python, R, or SQL), appropriate statistics (descriptive, inferential, and machine learning), and bioinformatics software to mine multi-omic data sets to identify and validate targets

  • Generate transcriptional and proteomic signatures working with cross functional teams

  • Analyze, interpret, and present experimental results at lab meetings.

  • Publish/present findings in peer-reviewed journals/scientific conferences.

  • Maintain accurate records of experiments and analyses.

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with manager and other colleagues.

 

About you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Neuroimmunology, or related field, with a maximum of 5 years of postdoctoral training.

  • Previous first-author publication(s) in internationally recognized journals are required

  • Ability to meet aggressive timelines and deliverables in a collaborative environment

  • Excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Curiosity and a willingness to work independently

The annual salary for this position is ​$95,000​. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through LINK.​
