We are looking for a Belgrade-based Data Analyst to join the Institute for Scientific Information. This is an amazing opportunity to work on a wide variety of research analyses (e.g., Societal Impact Framework and Highly Cited Researcher programs). The wider team consists of 6 people and reports to the Senior Vice President, Publication Selection & Strategy. We would love to speak with you if you have experience with data analysis using Python & Excel.

About you – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • 2+ years of experience working as a Data Analyst using Python

  • Proficient level of English language

  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical/numerical subject (including, but not limited to, mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science, engineering disciplines, data science)

 

It would be great if you also have . . .

  • Excellent knowledge of SQL

  • Strong communication & analytical skills

  • Experience with the Python data analysis ecosystem, e.g., Pandas, polars, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn

  • Understanding of academic literature would be useful to provide experience of the research domain. This could come from experience writing articles or proposals, or through use of Web of Science, Scopus or Google Scholar.

 

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Extracting and preparing data for analysis

  • Supporting our Data Scientists with various statistical or other analyses for reports and other projects, including our Societal Impact Framework and Highly Cited Researchers projects

  • Creating data visualizations & preparing data for various university rankings and other third-party clients

 

About the Team

You will be part of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) within the Research & Analytics business unit in Clarivate. The Institute for Scientific Information is a think tank within Clarivate focused on driving innovation in the field of bibliometrics through research projects and which supports Clarivate products such as the Web of Science, the data used by our products, and analytics derived from them.

As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with the rest of ISI on projects. This will include supporting various members of the team in preparing data for our Societal Impact Framework, a project helping to assess the impact of academic research on society as a whole. You will also support the team in carrying out data analysis for our annual awards program, Highly Cited Researchers. This prestigious program identifies around 7,000 researchers that have demonstrated significant and broad influence reflected in their publication of multiple highly cited papers within their field over the last decade.

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time position. The working hours would be standard EMEA working hours.

This is a hybrid position; you will be expected to work from our Belgrade office 3 days every other week.
