  Yahoo is seeking a highly skilled CloudOps Engineer with a passionfor building robust infrastructure and platforms in cloud environments. In this role, you will work closely with architects and software developers to deliver scalable, reliable services to millions of Yahoo Mail users. As a key member of our team, you’ll design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure, driving the migration of large-scale on-premises applications to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). • Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and maintain Yahoo Mail’s cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Lead the migration of large-scale on-premises applications to GCP, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption.

  • Administer and maintain cloud infrastructure, including on-call support, system monitoring, automation, and deployment processes.

  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline service delivery and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Develop reusable cloud infrastructure templates using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud services, networks, and applications to ensure high availability and performance.

  Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or Infrastructure roles, with hands-on experience in cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform preferred).

  • Demonstrated expertise supporting large-scale applications, computer systems, and networks.

  • Strong proficiency in Linux, TCP/IP, HTTP, MAIL protocols, DNS, content delivery networks (CDNs), load balancers, and troubleshooting techniques.

  • In-depth knowledge of GCP services, including Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Compute Engine (GCE), Networking, Security, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience building Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Helm Charts.

  • Proficiency in programming with Python, Golang, or Java, and the ability to create CI/CD pipelines for deploying services in these languages.

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud databases and storage platforms, such as Google Cloud Storage (GCS), Cloud SQL, Spanner, or Firestore.

  • Familiarity with Machine Learning and AI platforms, including Vertex AI, Generative AI, BigQuery, Looker, or DataProc.

  • Knowledge of cloud observability tools and Open Telemetry.

  What Sets You Apart

  • Proven success migrating on-premises infrastructure to GCP at scale.

  • Extensive operational experience in both on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Ability to build cloud services (e.g., GKE, Spanner) from the ground up using IaC (Terraform) and modern CI/CD tools.

  • Deep understanding of technologies and architectures related to mail delivery, web page serving, and high-availability systems, with the ability to explain them clearly.

The compensation for this position ranges from $104,700.00 - $174,500.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
