Internship: Social Impact Performance & Data Management 

Location: Amsterdam

Expected Start Date: ASAP

Type: Internship - not suitable for thesis
Length: minimum for 6-8 months, 8 months+ is preferred
Time: 32-40 hours/week
Hybrid: Around 3x per week in office

Can you work independently on data management, modelling and analysis with a wide range of diverse stakeholders?

Your role:

  • Support promising access & equity acceleration projects in businesses, especially within global health and social business topics

  • Maintain complex Excel spreadsheets and data to support performance analysis and reporting.

  • Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing insights that inform performance management.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure data integrity and accuracy.

  • Automate repetitive tasks and improve existing processes through advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables.

  • Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders in a clear and effective manner.

  • Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in data analysis and Excel functionalities to continually enhance analytical capabilities.

  • Synthesize results and disseminate them internally through presentations, reports, and briefs

  • Support ad hoc, relevant requests related to health equity and access (e.g. research for strategy work, etc.).

  • Capture minutes of the meetings, create action trackers and follow up on progress updates

  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders in the Businesses, Regions, Functions, and Partners, and ensure maximum coordination of resources and effort.


You're the right fit if:

  • Currently running your Master studies such as Management, or Economics/Business/Finance/Health economics with affinity in global/public health or other relevant studies

  • Strong data management and Excel skills

  • Excellent research and analytical skills

  • Strong communication & writing skills

  • Motivated, talented, hard-working, eager, independent, hands-on young individual

  • Relevant experience, e.g. previous internship, (extracurricular projects, etc.) related to analytics and business

  • Excellent knowledge of oral and written English

We are looking for an intern who can spend 6-12 months in the internship. Longer term (>8 months) is preferred for maximum learning experience.

In return, we offer you

A great opportunity to gain experience within a high performing finance team. You will gain insight into significant events within Royal Philips from an accounting and reporting perspective, as well as insight into other teams within Royal Philips. You will work in a team, which cooperates closely and there will be many learning and development opportunities.

Next to that, we are offering a decent internship package:

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.

  • Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the land lord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours.

  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €145,- net

  • Paid holidays per internship term.

  • The opportunity to buy Philips equipment at our Philips shop

Important:
Please note that in order to be considered for an internship, you need to be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation (proof of enrollment) will be requested. Students from outside the EU need to fill in an NUFFIC agreement, which needs to be signed by the student and the university. Please note that the contents of our regular internship assignments are not suitable for professionals (and/or MBA students) with professional work experience.
