The role

In this specific role, the Product Manager will work closely with our research teams and products groups spanning the Google Cloud organization. 

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Google DeepMind counterpart, collaborating with partner teams across Google or directly with customers to align on goals and drive cohesive outcomes.
  • Define and operationalize product roadmaps from strategic initiatives. Develop and champion a compelling product vision that articulates the overall narrative and direction, fostering synergy across related efforts.
  • Drive momentum and accelerate progress through effective influence and collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Proactively identify, mediate, and resolve potential issues between teams to ensure mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Influence product direction within partner teams outside the immediate group to ensure alignment with broader product strategies
  • Serve as a key expert, providing critical guidance on product-related decisions across various functions for products and features.
  • Act as a spokesperson for complex products or teams, effectively articulating their strategic fit to diverse audiences, including internal and external leaders, non-technical partners, and new hires.

About you

Google DeepMind Product Managers achieve personal impact by making pivotal decisions and leading across multiple products or cross-functional teams to achieve broader strategic goals. They solve complex product problems by securing and managing resources, attracting and securing talent, managing across different teams, and optimizing for Google DeepMind and the team.

In this specific role, the Product Manager will work closely with our research teams and the Google Cloud team supporting multiple products and workstreams. 

 In order to set you up for success as a Product Manager at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

  • Expertise in Machine Learning
  • Experience in Generative AI and/or AI for Science
  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
