We are seeking a talented QA Automation Engineer to become an automated quality assurance expert within our team. In this role, you will collaborate with developers and data engineers to ensure robust testing strategies and technical implementation for our data-driven applications. Your expertise will help identify risks and quality gaps early in the development lifecycle, while leading the adoption of best practices across our agile environment.
You will be:
serve as the automation and quality assurance expert, contributing to the development of comprehensive test strategies,
collaborate with developers and data engineers to understand complex system requirements and translate them into robust automated test plans,
identify dependencies, risks, and quality gaps early in the development lifecycle,
design and implement automated test cases, including integration, end-to-end (E2E), load, and performance testing for data-driven applications,
embed testing practices into CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and reliable deployments,
actively participate in breaking down releasable pieces of value during sprints,
define measurements of success, including the Definition of Done (DoD),
demonstrate business value in regular sprint ceremonies,
contribute to the living documentation of our domain and platform to facilitate knowledge sharing,
engage in design discussions, technical reviews, and the continuous improvement of testing standards and practices,
mentor team members on testing frameworks, best practices, and automation strategies.
Requirements
Your profile:
4+ years of experience as a QA Automation Specialist,
proven experience in distributed computing (e.g., Spark) and software development,
strong background in database testing, preferably with PostgreSQL,
solid understanding of object-oriented programming and core development principles,
experience working in Agile Scrum or Kanban teams,
familiarity with version control systems (preferably Git) and CI/CD pipelines,
hands-on experience with automated testing (integration/delta, load, and performance testing),
work in the hybrid model (Manchester) is mandatory (2 days a week).
Nice to have:
experience with containerization technologies like Docker,
proficiency in Spark-Scala,
background in Data Engineering,
experience with Python or .Net Core,
exposure to Kubernetes and Airflow,
familiarity with cloud environments (GCP, Azure),
experience with TeamCity CI and Octopus Deploy.
