Job Description
As a Product Manager, you will independently lead and manage a business or product area within our Fitness & Wellbeing vertical. You will identify customer value and develop iterative MVP solutions through collaboration with design and engineering teams. Your role involves direct weekly customer engagement to understand industry needs, pain points, and how your product can solve real problems. You will drive product understanding among internal stakeholders and establish compelling public narratives for releases.
Your responsibilities:
- Own the planning, vision, and implementation of features for your business or product area
- Engage directly with current and prospective customers to analyse their needs, business practices, and future plans
- Identify improvement opportunities within your product area and discover fresh ways to delight the market
- Work with internal stakeholders to drive successful product releases and support the public narrative
- Deliver clear, comprehensive product requirements that effectively guide the development team
- Manage and groom your product backlog, ensuring tickets are properly prepared for upcoming sprints
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer support to capture feedback and ensure seamless market delivery
- Align your product roadmap with broader product strategy, balancing long-term investments, short-term wins, and technical debt
- Actively participate in Scrum processes and help drive effective ceremonies (standups, grooming, planning, retrospectives)
- Define key success metrics and articulate plans for continuous measurement and iteration
- Focus on delivering customer value through MVP solutions that minimise time, effort and risk
- Identify and eliminate low-value work undertaken by your agile team
- Work closely with design, research, and development to articulate customer pain points and build effective problem-solving processes
The average base salary pay range for this position is $105,000 to $120,000 CAD
Qualifications
What makes you successful?
As a successful Product Manager, you will continuously develop expertise in your business or product area through research, competitive analysis, and staying current with emerging technologies and market trends. You'll own your roadmap management with clear reasoning behind each decision, while consulting with your Brand Product Lead on key roadmap changes.
We're also looking for:
- 2+ years of professional experience managing software products from inception through launch and iteration
- Ability to operate and engage with a product team with minimal supervision
- Ideally, you have PM experience with software platforms in the fitness, wellbeing, or recreation sectors (e.g., boutique fitness studios, gym management systems, municipal recreation platforms, or wellness apps)
- Experience and comfort engaging customers directly regarding product and business challenges
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
- Empathy: You have a talent for understanding what our customers are trying to achieve and why
- Analytical thinking: You can spot commonalities in seemingly different customer requests and identify opportunities to address them with unified solutions
- Innovation: You have a flair for bold ideas that can potentially deliver game-changing competitive advantages
- Strategic mindset: You can slice big projects into pragmatic MVPs that maximise customer value with the least amount of time, effort and risk
- Collaboration: You believe teams work best when everyone communicates daily about how each person's contribution fits into the shared vision
