Your opportunity to shape the future of energy forecasting & portfolio management. Are you passionate about energy markets, data analysis, and customer interaction? At Alpiq, we are looking for a motivated and analytical talent to strengthen our Structured Energy Management team. In this role, you will contribute to managing our Swiss Power & Gas portfolio. With a strong focus on demand forecasting, deal capturing and scheduling operations. Join a dynamic, international environment and help us further enhance our forecasting tools and portfolio strategies for our corporate and industrial clients.

 

Your main responsibilities
•    Manage daily customer demand forecasts and nominations for the Swiss Sales portfolio
•    Monitor client consumption patterns and advise Key Account Managers and the Portfolio Management team
•    Liaise directly with clients to improve consumption prediction accuracy
•    Collaborate daily with the Trading team to optimize short- and mid-term positions
•    Review long-term forecasts and support cost mitigation strategies
•    Analyze and report portfolio KPIs (e.g. imbalance and replacement costs)
•    Evaluate marginal costs of integrating new customers
•    Ensure deal capturing and implementation in close collaboration with Back-Office and Middle-Office
•    Operate national registries for Guarantees of Origin (GOO)
•    Support internal projects, especially in IT tool implementation and algorithm enhancement

 

Your profile
•    Bachelor's degree (Master's is a plus) in engineering, mathematics, physics, economics or a related field (HES, university, EPF)
•    1-2 years of relevant experience in energy or finance is beneficial
•    Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel/VBA; Python and SQL experience required
•    Experience in statistics or stochastic modeling is a plus
•    Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural team
•    Availability to work in Olten or Lausanne (Hybrid)
•    Fluency in English, additional languages (French, German, others) are an energy plus
