Job Summary
The primary responsibilities of this position are managing and monitoring data related to employee benefits through the use of queries and reports.
The position will regularly engage with different teams within Human Resources and Payroll to continuously analyze benefit-related data to ensure eligibility, enrollment, and contribution accuracy.
The incumbent must have a full understanding the legislation, policies, and practices that govern the benefit offerings of Illinois State University.
The position has a data entry element which requires the employee to understand the relationship of employment processes and data entry as well as employee benefits for all employment groups.
Accuracy, initiative and self-directedness is a must. Ability to identify, and resolve issues by inquiry, researching, understanding and applying all the resources available.
The incumbent will work in a highly confidential setting.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$26.00 - $26.50 per hour
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management and Administration, Business Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Science, or a field closely related to the position. Transcript required - may be unofficial.
2. At least one year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional level work experience performing duties related to data entry and/or management of data for decision-making and compliance purposes.
Work Hours
Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
Remain at a workstation for extended periods of time.
Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
