Data Engineer Cyber-security & Fraud Detection | Hybrid

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join the ISR/RBS team within the Retail Banking Security (RBS) department. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our cybersecurity application for eFraud detection. This role requires expertise in Big Data technologies, data pipeline development, and production monitoring to anticipate and prevent fraud-related incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Big Data Development & Deployment:
  • Develop and execute Big Data projects to support eFraud detection business needs.
  • Perform end-to-end testing, define test scenarios, and document defects.
  • Manage production deployments and ensure seamless rollouts.
• Data Pipeline & Infrastructure Management:
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for ETL processes across multiple data sources.
  • Maintain and optimize databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Ensure data integrity, governance, and compliance with internal standards.
• Incident Prevention & Monitoring:
  • Monitor and maintain fraud detection microservices hosted in the Big Data environment.
  • Investigate production incidents and coordinate resolutions with key stakeholders.
  • Implement automated monitoring and alerting mechanisms to enhance security.
• Optimization & Security Improvements:
  • Develop a strategy to reduce technical debt and optimize infrastructure performance.
  • Improve data security measures and ensure decommissioning of unused resources.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all data engineering processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering, development, and production monitoring.
• Strong technical expertise in:
  • Scala, Spark, Hadoop, Cloudera.
  • CI/CD tools and processes.
  • Jira, ElasticSearch for project management and search analytics.
• Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience with HDFS, HBase, Control-M, Yarn, Kafka.
• Languages:
  • English Advanced (mandatory).
  • French Intermediate (preferred).
• Soft Skills:
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively propose solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to planning, reporting, and execution of assigned tasks.
