Omnicell’s Global Optimization and Process team is seeking a Data Science Intern to support strategic initiatives through data-driven insights and analytics. This internship provides hands-on experience working on impactful projects within a global operations environment, including supply chain, manufacturing, and planning functions. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and eager to apply machine learning and automation techniques to real-world challenges.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with teams in Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics to understand business needs and gather data requirements.
- Support Forecasting & Analytics Projects: Assist in developing AI-based models to improve demand forecasting, inventory management, and logistics efficiency.
- Data Preparation & Analysis: Clean, organize, and analyze large datasets to identify trends and support decision-making.
- Contribute to Automation Efforts: Help explore and prototype RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools for automating repetitive supply chain tasks.
- Learn SAP Data Structures: Gain exposure to SAP master data and transactional data, including material and vendor information.
- Present Insights: Summarize findings and create simple visualizations or reports to communicate results to business stakeholders
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Academic Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Python, SQL, or R for data analysis and visualization.
- Machine Learning Interest: Basic understanding of ML concepts and interest in applying them to supply chain or operations problems.
- Team Collaboration: Willingness to work in a team environment and learn from experienced professionals.
