This Support Engineering Specialist position in San Antonio, TX will be part of the organization that provides sustainment and modification support to the USAF (United States Air Force) to help maintain and sustain its fleet of Boeing 747 aircraft.
This position will be a part of the team which evaluates Maintenance requirements (e.g., task cards, service bulletins, modifications), researches support equipment, parts, materials, and tools to support aircraft sustainment, maintenance and modifications. This position will interpret and analyze engineering data, reliability and maintainability data, supply chain data, and customer operations in support of depot Pre-Planning activity and support the scheduling of non-conformances during depot execution.
This position will be a part of the E-4B Maintenance & Pre-Planning Team and will support depot activity in providing solutions in support of day-to-day depot operations. Additionally, this position will support Pre-Planning activity in advance of aircraft induction. The position will work a baseline 1st shift, but this support can occur during multiple shifts of operations and occasionally could require weekend support. This position will work horizontally with other functions across The Boeing Company. Furthermore, this position will provide training, as needed, to emerging individuals; and work closely with the USAF and Government customers to ensure the continued safe operation of the fleet.

Position Responsibilities
Be a part of a multi-disciplined and cross geographical team to ensure customer contractual requirements are met.
Prepares routine communications and presentation material for dissemination to internal and external customers.
Review work scope to support sequencing of parts removals, such as panels, flight controls, filters, Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), etc.
Review non-conformance and unplanned scope for integration and scheduling activities into the overall depot schedule.
Work with supplier management and internal vendors to schedule arrival dates of parts and ensure supportability.
Provide feedback to scheduled maintenance work packages.
Validate aircraft, support equipment, parts, and materials are scheduled and on dock per plan.
Provide support for operator recovery plans for operational disruptions due to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
Conducts research on advanced technical, operational and quality issues
Analyzes information to evaluate reported discrepancies.
Research and analyze systems and components to identify issues and corrective actions.
Supports a wide range of technical and operational issues associated with depot maintenance, and repair.
Interpret engineering drawings and standards in support of part applicability and spares demand as required
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
2+ years of experience with aircraft maintenance management, including planning and alignment of maintenance requirements and capturing and utilizing maintenance records
2+ years of experience in reading and interpreting technical publications and/or maintenance manuals
2+ years of experience supporting military commercial derivative aircraft with FAA continued airworthiness
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or Higher
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options (San Antonio, TX).
