Summary of the role
Howden Group Services has recently established an internal data engineering capability and are looking for a Databricks Data Engineer with experience of metadata ingestion processes. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of delivering data solutions using Databricks with Azure services such as ADF.
The role requires someone adaptable, capable of managing multiple deliverables at the same time, with an outstanding attention to detail.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will
- be responsible for crafting metadata to ingest feeds using existing services
- help extend the new Orchestration process’ capabilities
- help create reusable metadata-driven Services, while maintaining existing ones
- adhere to development standards
- liaise with the business, as required, to elicit feed requirements
- support existing metadata feeds
Requirements
Candidates should have
- experience working with Databricks, both SQL and PySpark (preferably, at least 3 years)
- experience with Azure services, such as ADF
- robust development practices
- strong interpersonal skills
- experience of CI/CD (not essential, but preferred)
- experience of metadata ingestion processes (not essential, but preferred)
- experience working with Insurance data (not essential, but preferred)
Location
We are based in the vibrant area of the City of London. Our office is just a short walk away from Liverpool Street Station. We offer hybrid working arrangements.
