Role Overview
AvidXchange is expanding its development team and currently hiring a Software Engineer II! We are looking for self-motivated, enthusiastic, energetic candidates looking for the challenges and rewards of working in a small startup environment. You will be part of a collaborative development team that develops, tests, deploys and supports AvidXchange ‘s suite of finance products.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AvidXchange’s suite of software products on our SaaS infrastructure.
- Actively participate in the Scrum team, including estimating user stories, attending daily stand-ups, and maintaining the sprint backlog.
- Advocate for delivering high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly software.
- Collaborate with product management in product planning and development.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 3 or more years of experience working on web or mobile applications within the following tech stack:
- Web application development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (experience with modern frameworks such as React or Angular is a plus)
- REST-based web services, with experience in Java (preferred) and familiarity with Node.js, .NET, or Python
- SQL data storage and reporting, with experience in PostgreSQL (preferred)
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Linux and Bash scripting
- Unit and integration testing
- Continuous Integration & Delivery (CI/CD)
- Experience deploying and maintaining software on IaaS/PaaS platforms (Azure & Docker preferred)
- Interest in financial products is a plus
