Job Summary:
The role of the Data Analyst is to enhance the Internal Audit department’s audit processes through the use of data analytics, automation and AI, providing valuable insights, and supporting the overall audit function. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to the continuous improvement of our audit practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizing PowerBI to design, develop, enhance, and support innovative, meaningful, and useful visualizations to optimize audit process and reporting.
- Extract, clean, and analyze data from various sources to support audit activities and identify trends, anomalies, and areas of risk.
- Develop and implement analytics and automation solutions to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the audit process.
- Analyze business needs and gather requirements for data analytics and automation projects
- Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations to extract insights from business data, identify anomalies, and communicate audit findings or key metrics to stakeholders.
- Develop and implement automated testing procedures for key controls and processes to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform ad hoc data analysis to support specific audit projects and provide actionable insights to the audit team.
- Support the development and implementation of continuous auditing and monitoring programs to provide real-time insights into risk and control environments.
- Work closely with audit professionals, IT, and other departments to understand data requirements and ensure the accuracy and completeness of data used in audits.
- Document data analysis procedures, methodologies, and findings to ensure transparency and reproducibility of audit work.
- Provide options, offer suggestions, and support technology implementation decisions. Keep track of technological advancements (e.g., GenAI); identify and address emerging trends and new technologies which can support the organization’s objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide meaningful insights.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across different functions.
- 2-3 years’ experience in data analysis, data science, or a related field.
- Successful track record of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application in audit analytics.
- Certification in data analytics or related fields (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional,).
- Experience with audit processes and familiarity with internal control frameworks.
Working Conditions:
- This job operates in a professional office environment with hybrid setting (three days in office, two days remote work).
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
- Occasional travel and overtime may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
