At One Door, we aim to bring the retail in-store vision to life. As we pursue our mission to be the fastest growing Visual Merchandising platform, we seek a seasoned Senior Data and Insights Engineer to lead the development and scalability of our data visualization and insights infrastructure within a SaaS product environment. This role is central to our mission of delivering predictive, actionable insights at scale, empowering users across the merchandising, retail, and marketing landscape.

You will be at the forefront of building the platform's data backbone and insight layers, leveraging Microsoft Fabric Power BI, predictive modeling, and intelligent automation to enable data-driven decisions not just for today but also for the future.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports that serve as reusable, multi-tenant insights modules, with a growing focus on predictive and prescriptive analytics.
  • Architect and maintain scalable data models and reporting layers that support historical analysis and forward-looking indicators (e.g., sales forecast accuracy, out-of-stock risks, compliance prediction).
  • Build and productize predictive models using Python, SQL, or embedded AI services (e.g., Microsoft Fabric Co-Pilot) to forecast merchandising execution outcomes, store performance, and product demand trends.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed machine learning insights directly into the SaaS platform, enabling users to take proactive action based on forecasted metrics.
  • Define a consistent and extensible framework for model lifecycle management, including training, evaluation, monitoring, and retraining strategies.
  • Rebuild and expand the Insights reporting suite to reflect real-time metrics and predictive KPIs that drive merchandising impact at scale.
  • Develop pipelines that ingest, transform, and enrich data to support feature engineering and continuous model improvement.
  • Work cross-functionally with UX, Product, and Customer Success to ensure predictive analytics are surfaced intuitively and drive tangible value for end users.
  • Apply UI/UX best practices to translate complex analytics into understandable visuals for non-technical users.
  • Ensure data integrity, role-based security, and tenant-aware data partitioning for predictive and historical views alike.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure ML, and AI-assisted analytics capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in data and insights engineering, with proven delivery of predictive models or advanced analytics in a production environment.
  • Strong command of SQL, DAX, Python, and Snowflake, with experience in time-series forecasting, regression models, and clustering techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, and familiarity with ML features or integration patterns in these ecosystems.
  • Deep understanding of merchandising analytics, including forecasting shelf compliance, predicting inventory gaps, and modeling planogram adherence.
  • Experience in SaaS product environments, building analytics for multiple clients using shared infrastructure and modular data layers.
  • Familiarity with MLOps, data versioning, and model observability practices is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain predictive outcomes to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Cloud experience (Azure preferred) and comfort working with data lakes, APIs, and streaming data pipelines.

PREFERRED

  • Certified Power BI Data Analyst or Developer (Microsoft).
  • Experience with Microsoft Co-Pilot, Azure Machine Learning, or similar AI/ML frameworks.
  • Exposure to predictive analytics in retail merchandising, store execution, or product assortment planning.
  • Experience building or embedding predictive workflows into SaaS tools.
  • Familiarity with other BI tools such as Tableau or Looker is a plus.
