Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Cartography Professional Intern in our Titusville, FL office. This is a paid internship position that offers the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations in support of the development and management of projects for a variety of technical practices including, contaminated site investigation, human health risk assessment, subsurface remediation, water resources, and geotechnical engineering. The position is up to 40 hours/week during the summer semester of 2025. Candidates are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from the office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and associated ESRI ArcGIS software to produce, display, and analyze spatial data;
- Create, organize, manipulate, and generate GIS data for reporting, analysis, presentations, and data visualization purposes; and
- Assist with the development and maintenance of an environmental relational database application using enterprise (MS SQL Server) database software to compile, verify, analyze, and report large and diverse datasets.
- Local travel or driving to project sites as needed.
Education and Licensure
- Currently registered in a Bachelor’s or Master’s university degree program in a relevant technical discipline (geography, geology, science, or engineering). (required)
- Currently registered in a GIS certification program. (preferred)
- Relevant course work in GIS. (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Familiarity with GIS and its associated software, analysis, reporting, cartography, data management, and visualization. (preferred)
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro and experience with geodatabase structures and geoprocessing concepts. (required)
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcMap. (preferred)
- Knowledgeable with cartographic techniques and best practices. (required)
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. (required)
- Understanding of data quality control concepts. (required)
- Solid general technical / analytical capabilities, including the ability to learn new software quickly. (required)
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including the ability to write complex formulas and visualize data effectively. (preferred)
- Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python and VBA. (preferred)
- Familiarity with environmental data and knowledge of basic statistics. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
