We are looking for a seasoned Principal Data Architect to lead the Data Platforms Team and spearhead innovation across data engineering, analytics, and governance. This role involves designing and scaling robust data infrastructure in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, while driving architectural excellence and strategic direction in data initiatives.

Role Overview:
As the Principal Data Architect, you will be at the forefront of building and scaling robust data platforms. You will lead a team of data engineers, influence technical strategy, and work closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to architect scalable solutions aligned with business goals. This role demands a strong foundation in backend development, large-scale data processing, and cloud-native architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data engineers.
- Architect and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure data infrastructure.
- Define and implement data governance frameworks and ensure compliance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and execute the long-term data roadmap.
- Design high-performance data processing workflows with a focus on efficiency and scalability.
- Maintain high standards of data quality, integrity, and security across platforms.
- Promote a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in software/data engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in backend development using Java, GoLang, PHP, Python, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and Scala for data transformation and analytics.
- Deep experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and their data ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of HLD/LLD, system design patterns, and frameworks like Spring Boot or Google Guice.
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies: Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.
- Experience with cloud-based data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Solid understanding of data governance, compliance (GDPR, SOC2), and security principles.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra, and TiDB.
- Exposure to DevOps and automation tools: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, ELK, Grafana.
- Ability to align technical initiatives with business strategy and goals.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to real-time analytics and streaming data architectures.
- Experience with MLOps or machine learning infrastructure.
- Interest in data structures, algorithms, parallel computing, and performance optimization.
- Background in high-growth tech environments or SaaS platforms.
