Summary

The Senior HR Data Manager is responsible for overseeing the collection, management, and analysis of human resources data to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of HR data while leveraging it to provide insights that drive HR initiatives and business outcomes. The HR Data Manager will collaborate with HR leadership, IT, and other departments to optimize HR systems and processes.

 

 

The salary range for this position is $143,000 - $215,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Data Management:

  • Oversee the collection, storage, and maintenance of HR data, including employee records, payroll inputs, performance metrics, and recruitment data.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all HR systems.
  • Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to maintain data integrity and security.
  • Assume data ownership of the HR department in the overall corporate data governance program.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform HR strategies and business decisions.
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for HR leadership and other stakeholders, including metrics on turnover, recruitment, employee engagement, and diversity.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations to present data in a clear and actionable manner.

System Optimization:

  • Collaborate with IT and HR teams to optimize HR information systems (HRIS) and other data management tools.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance data collection and reporting efficiency.
  • Stay updated on emerging HR technologies and data management best practices.

Compliance and Security:

  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and company policies related to data privacy and security.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR data to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and monitor access controls to protect sensitive HR data.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with HR leadership to understand data needs and provide insights that support HR initiatives.
  • Partner with other departments (e.g., Finance, IT) to align HR data with organizational goals and metrics.
  • Provide training and support to HR staff on data management tools and best practices.

Strategic Support:

  • Contribute to the development of HR strategies by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Support workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development initiatives through data analysis.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in data science, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR data management, HRIS, or a related role. Experience with data analysis and reporting in a corporate HR environment is essential.
  • Technical Skills:  Expertise in HRIS (SAP SuccessFactors), data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI), and data management software. Knowledge of SQL and other data querying languages is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders, particularly using PowerPoint
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data management and reporting.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of data protection regulations and HR
  • Occasional travel for training, conferences, or meetings may be required.
