Applied Scientist

What you’ll do

• You’ll be responsible for extracting meaningful insights from large, imperfect datasets. Your work will turn raw data into actionable intelligence, improving the quality of our routing products.
• You develop ML models that solve challenging problems, and lead the design, implementation, and integration of scalable AI/ML systems and services
• Visualize and report on insights and trends (e.g. by building dashboards) in a structured way
• Join a top-level international development team where your ideas and skills will contribute to leapfrogging competition when it comes to route quality, travel time estimation and/or electric vehicle battery consumption.
• Dive into our products’ event streams and user sessions. Your expertise in data analysis will help decode complex datasets and transform them into valuable information that will help improve our products.
• Generate and validate hypotheses around quality weak spots, assess the feasibility of implementing novel ideas in existing and/or “greenfield” code bases, and implement and ensure the idea ends up in our production code.
• Guide more junior colleagues and contribute to team process improvements

What you’ll need

• You hold an M.Sc., or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a relevant field. Your academic background has prepared you to tackle the complex challenges you’ll face in this role.
• You possess advanced software skills and experience (3-7 years) in C++, Java and/or Python and your experience in developing production-grade code (incl. Infrastructure as Code) is matched by your ability to architect, implement, and maintain complex data processing systems (AWS or Azure).
• You have relevant production experience with established tools and solutions (e.g. SQL, DataBricks, ML methods)
• Experience in analyzing complex datasets and implementing models and algorithms, particularly with noisy real-time and historical data from connected devices as well as product event logs
• Extensive experience in setting up and successfully conducting targeted experiments and R&D activities aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
• You enjoy working in an international team and are a true team player. You understand that the best results come from collaboration and are eager to contribute to a collective effort.

• You have strong written and verbal communication abilities in English, enabling you to articulate complex technical concepts and collaborate effectively with team members.

What’s nice to have

• Experience with DevOps practices will give you an edge. · Understanding the main quality aspects of routing and navigation experiences, as well as vehicle architecture, is a plus.
• An interest in software architecture will help you contribute to the broader design and development efforts within the team.
